Loaners, usually reserved for the fashion directors/stylists of top magazines for editorials, these SAMPLES although yes are one of a kind, usually are ratty (b/c of all the passing around from one mag to another, & from one stylist to the next) and sometimes not labeled, are not Such a big deal. I guess Prada is reserving some from rotation and auctioning them through their website for Charity: the San Raffaele Foundation, an Italian institution concerned with medical research, clinical work, and training.
NYMAG: Tuesday Prada will start auctioning off original prototypes from the spring/summer 2008 collection. That means they could have been all over the body of Sasha Pivovarova or have been touched by Miuccia’s very own hands. The very thought kind of makes our spine tingle.Tuesday for three weeks starting April 15 the label will auction off a different batch of items online.
This is Called a SAMPLE SALE with great PR guys! Nothing to go crazy about, the chances Miuccia felt the silk of any of these harlequin threads are slim to none. But if youre still up for it and Prada crazy, make sure you havent eaten since birth b/c all these pieces are super duper small, model size lets say!!!
